Cozy in quarantine

findingyourcozy

I have been in love with the fall season ever since I was young and watched the nostalgic Gilmore Girls intro shot with the gorgeous town covered in red and orange trees. There is something about the smell of fall... that sweet hint of freshly fallen leaves and pumpkins with candles melting inside. It's a season where casseroles are trendy and cozy socks are encouraged. I still look at fall the way I did as a kid, as the start of a new school year and a new beginning. Even though school is far behind me I still appreciate the fresh new year feel the chilly weather and dark nights bring. A few of my favorite ways to celebrate this season (specifically in a pandemic) include:

  • Long walks to explore my favorite neighborhoods - this street in Capitol Hill DC is one of my all-time favorites. It's always glorious but WOW does it shine in the fall.

  • Bottomless brunch...at home - bottomless bloody marys and cozy clothes included ;) I have always been interested in the idea of bottomless brunch but not the idea of a $40+ meal while you have to wear jeans and due to the stay at home order I know fully enjoy the bottomless brunch experience from the comfort of my couch and a few episodes of New Girl

  • Supporting my favorite local coffee shops - My favorite in DC include Dolcezza, District Donut, and 350 Bakery. If quiche gives you butterflies... then boy oh boy do you need to visit 350 bakery. Grab a ham and cheese quiche and their heavenly iced coffee and your day will be off to a great start.

What are your favorite ways to stay cozy in the fall?
